Luis Emilio Betancourt, MD

Dr. Betancourt moved to Charlotte after training & working at Duke University Medical Center as a child and adolescent psychiatrist. He is deeply committed to providing high-quality and compassionate care. He has particular interest in the interface between religion-spirituality and psychiatry. He is is fluent in English and Spanish.

Javier Santos-Cubiñá, MD

Dr. Santos-Cubiñá is committed to caring for children, adults and families with mental health issues. Areas of expertise include the care of mental health in children and adults with complex medical and neurological problems, women during pregnancy and postpartum, psycho-dynamic oriented psychotherapy and attachment oriented psychotherapy. He is fluent in Spanish and English.

Madhav Muppa, MD

Dr. Muppa moved to Charlotte after working for 4 years in PA in an inpatient psychiatric hospital and outpatient clinic. His outpatient experience was taking care of children, adolescents and adult patients with Autism Spectrum disorder, ADHD, Oppositional defiant disorder and mood disorders. His particular interests are Mood disorders, ADHD and Autism Spectrum disorder.

Diana Remenar, PA-C

Diana Remenar is originally from Wheeling, West Virginia and she moved to Charlotte in 2017. She obtained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from West Liberty University. Diana is passionate about treating adults who suffer from a range of psychiatric illnesses such as, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and personality disorders in a psychiatric outpatient setting. She is dedicated to treating all of her patients with respect and compassion.

Phil O Johns Jr., PA-C

Phil Johns moved to Charlotte in 2013. He has worked in Psychiatry since 2009 working in a variety of settings including outpatient offices, inpatient behavioral centers, retirement centers and substance abuse centers. Phil has also worked other settings as a physician assistant including urgent care and physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is committed to providing superior care.

Kaisha Byers, PA-C

Kaisha Byers moved to Charlotte in 2007. She practiced as a Chiropractor for 5 years before returning to school to pursue her Master of Medical Science Degree at Wake Forest University.  Since graduating from Wake Forest, she has worked primarily as a Physician Assistant specializing in Psychiatry in an Emergency Department seeing adult and pediatric patients.  She also has experience working on the adult and pediatric inpatient Behavioral Health Units, as well as working on the Psychiatric consult service, providing care to hospital patients admitted for medical reasons.  Kaisha aspires to provide every patient and their family with compassionate and evidence-based care.

Bilal Ghandour, Ph.D.

Bilal has many years of experience working with teens and adults who have emotional disorders that manifest physically (e.g., self-harm behaviors such as cutting, eating disorders, and compulsive hair-pulling – i.e. Trichotillomania).
Bilal also works with teens and adults with personality disorders (e.g., ‘borderline’ traits); addiction; and body image issues. He also sees individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, and romantic relationships.

Wanda Carrington, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Wanda Carrington is psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who assesses clients’ mental health while focusing on health promotion and disease prevention. She specializes in patients of all age groups and if fluent in Spanish. She has been a registered nurse since 2013 and has experience in acute mental health and substance abuse detoxification settings. Wanda also has experience in caring for patients with Major Depression, Bipolar, Autism Spectrum, Generalized Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation, Post-Traumatic Stress and Psychotic disorders. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York and recently moved to Concord, NC. She loves to spend time with family and friends. All of her nursing experience has been in mental health and she is passionate about providing the best quality care to all her clients.

Ladeana W. Gambill, NP-C

Ladeana is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and also holds a certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. A native of East Tennessee, she has lived in the Charlotte area since 2002. She has almost 20 years of nursing experience including advanced practice experience in hospital medicine, pediatric and adult psychiatry as well as radiation oncology. Her passion lies in assessment and treatment of mental health conditions such as ADHD, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder, autism, neurodevelopmental challenges, and grief-related sequelae.
She extends a compassionate and holistic approach to the mental health needs of the patients that she serves. She provides conservative medication management and brief psychotherapy services with a focus on whole body wellness.

Vanessa A. Arenas, LPC, LMHC

Vanessa enjoys helping others who are facing challenges in their lives and could use some support. Whether the challenges are at home, school or work; she is capable of offering assistance to strive towards positive change.  She offers a safe non-judgmental place; where you can vent and focus on your mental health needs. She is experienced in supporting adults and adolescents with diverse needs and complexities. Her particular interests are helping children/adolescents (ages 5-15) and their families, as well as Spanish speaking individuals and families. Expertise includes trauma-informed therapy, depression, relationships, acculturation, anxiety, self-esteem and much more. She looks forward to collaborating with you and your needs.

Brenda LaGrange-Lowery, LPCS, NCC

Brenda enjoys working with individuals, families and groups who are seeking relief from emotional and behavioral difficulties that are impairing their functioning in the home, work or school setting.  She has worked extensively with individuals regarding situations involving sexual abuse, domestic violence, behavioral issues, trauma related issues and post adoption issues. She also works with clients on everyday sources of stress; such as relationship problems, depression, grief and loss, school and work issues as well as other issues that might arise in the counseling sessions.   She has over 14 years of experience working with clients in multiple settings including outpatient practice, at school and in the home. She especially likes to collaborate with your other providers or teachers to help enhance the therapy experience.

Priscilla Fermin, LCSW

Priscilla has a passion for working with children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as their families. She strives to help them develop the tools they need to live meaningful lives, build self-confidence, and develop trust to grow strong together. For over ten years, she has provided care in multiple settings including homes, outpatient practices, residential treatment facilities, and schools. She enjoys working specifically with children and adolescents with interpersonal and/or behavioral issues. Her experience also includes longtime work with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. There can be a complexity that ASD has on psychological symptoms and the impact this has on their lives.
